Our paper “Easy and complex: new perspectives for metadata modeling using RDF-star and Named Graphs” just got accepted for the Knowledge Graph and Semantic Web Conference. The research emerged collaboratively from the CAIUS and the Judaicalink project.

The project “Consequences of Artificial Intelligence for Urban Societies: Using Impact-Aware AI to Make Smart Cities Socially Equitable (CAIUS)” is exploring the benefits and risks of using AI systems in the context of smart cities. It is funded by the Volkswagen Foundatation and is conducted together with researchers from Mannheim University. The funding amount is 1.5 million Euros. Prof. Dr. Kai Eckert leads the project for Stuttgart Media University.

Data analysis and visualisation for Deutsche Welle

Within a research collaboration with Deutsche Welle (DW), our student assistants Max Botta, Marcel Pleyer and Tobias Reumann developed under supervision of Prof. Dr. Kai Eckert a data analysis and visualisation tool that helps DW editors to manage and optimise the dw.com website with a high volume of daily articles in 30 languages.

JudaicaLink is a project of our research group that has been established in 2013. The original goal was the creation of data representation from online encyclopediae.
Since the publication of the first data versions of encyclopediae, the project had been quite dormant. Now, in the context of our FID Judaica project, JudaicaLink got a new mission statement to create a rich knowledge graph for the domain of Jewish studies.
For starters, the whole technical setup has been changed to become more stable and better manageable. Furthermore, the project moved to a new and more powerful server.
